Osteoporosis - Exercise and Bone Health

Exercise and Bone Health

Osteoporosis is a major health concern affecting 1 in 4 woman and 1 in 8 men over the age of 50. Known as the “silent thief”, bone loss occurs without any symptoms and increases the risk of fracture.

Exercise can help preserve bone density while improving muscle mass, strength and balance.  This seminar will provide guidance regarding the types of exercises and activities that can be safely performed by individuals with low bone mass and osteoporosis.

Presented by Jennifer Nelson, a registered physiotherapist with a special interest in osteoporosis.
